Parc Fifty Five Hotel - Union Square - San Francisco

lovely hotel, friendly staff. enjoyable stay. top class

Such a great location, starbucks is 1 block away, transport 1 block away, shopping 1 block away. Literally couldn't of been any better. Staff were really helpful, hotel was really nice - clean, large rooms, great views. Only disappointment is valet parking at the hotel which is $44 per 24 hours, but everywhere in San Francisco charges a lot of money for parking - we just left car for the 3 nights in the parking and go public transport as it's easy and cheap and you also get to see all the sights. Urban outfitters literally 1 block away, and also a Westfield shopping mall. Area felt safe to walk around no matter whether it was daytime or nighttime.

The hotel is great. If you can get a corner room, you'll get a 270 degree view of San Francisco. But the corner rooms have queen beds (for the most part). The neighborhood is convenient and centralized, but loud at night and borders on the Tenderlion, which is SF at it's worst.

This was a great location, clean, QUIET! A great room for the money

Just found the place to be dull, uninviting, cool; no warmth or character, institutional smell throughout; just a very so-so place. Didn't know I'd be charged $50 to park the car. That came as an unwelcomed surprise (I've parked at hotels in NY at no charge!)

this hotel is located in an outstanding location in San Francisco if you only have a short time with easy access to all local transport. its a 2 min walk from the nearest bart station which runs from the airport and located in the heart of shopping territory. fishermans mans wharf is easy to get to from here with plenty of places to eat nearby.

Very "hip"hotel within easy reach of most attractions. Rooms very clean and well appointed but could do with some sound proofing. Only downer is the price to park your car..but that is pretty much something that is common in tourist cities.

Very Clean,If you fly take the Bart Transportation as it will drop you off right in front of the hotel for very little cost. Easy public Transportation around town from this hotel. Dinner in the hotel was good also.

The "special" rate we received of ...per night was hiked up by ,,,per night for parking. The list of amenities includes parking so one is led to believe that parking is free. So we really didn't get a "special" rate after all. The hotel puts out what looks like a continental breakfast in the lobby outside the dining room. Guests perceive the layout to be complimentary, but when we approached the table, someone ran over to us and said each item was $2 each. Very tacky.

I have been to San Francisco many times and had never seen the Parc Fifty Five before. It is very close to the BART which made it extremely convenient for my family. My room had a great view of Market Street and the bay while my children could see Union Square and beyond. The hotel is close to absolutely everything with an excellent if somewhat pricey restaurant. I have never spent $75 for four people to eat breakfast but it was a great breakfast! All in all I would definitely stay again - the hotel personnel were friendly, professional and courteous. What more could you ask for?

If you want a hotel with perfect access to all modes of public transportation, PLUS a central location near the best restaurants and attractions, then this is it! No white robes in the closet, no chocolates on the pillows each night, no free continental breakfast, but the room was clean and comfortable and the staff was efficient, courteous and helpful. We will stay here again on our next trip to San Francisco!

Located near BART station, cable cars, bus lines and trolley lines

I stayed on 7th floor. I could hear police sirens and some construction noises early in the morning and nights. The hotel needs to noise proof their walls - If that is done this can be the best hotel. The bed was just great ! The food was not that expensive for that type of hotel as well.

This hotel has a very convenient location. However the room we got did not have a good view. I asked if we could get a room with a bay view and they said they will let me know and they never did! When we first entered our room, there was a note saying that the day after, workers will clean the windows from 8-4. Okay, no problem so far. The day came and when we returned back to our room we saw their stuff hanging out from the windows. It was okay. The surprising thing came when we woke up the nex morning noticing that two guys are looking inside our room while we were sleeping! Creepy! Anyhow, overal I liked the hotel and it was a memorable trip.

The Parc 55 is an outstanding hotel in SF. The views are amazing and the amenities are all there. Prompt courteous service from all staff. There are not a lot of "extra freebies" and no irritating minibar. Therefore one pays only for what one needs With 1000 rooms it may seem overwhelming but definitely is not. One of the great values in San Francisco. Best location we have experienced.

Great location; however, you had to pay for every little thing. Staff were wonderful and the view from the 19th floor corner room was awesome!

My colleagues and I booked a room for a conference with two double beds to hold 4 persons. When we arrived at the hotel, after waiting forever to be checked in (this was more because some shady character refused to give ID when checking in than the hotel's fault) we were told that all the double rooms were full and that we would be given a king size with roll in cot instead. As there were two men and two women, the sleeping situation became 3 in the king and 1 on the cot. Given the work relationship maintained with my 3 companions, the accommodations were inappropriate.

Hotel lobby was very fancy and the interior designs were renovated to modern trends. But all other areas such as bathrooms, corridors needed some improvement. And the damp smell in the corridors weren't very pleasing. The hotel ceilings are quite low, as can be expected from an old building. Location of the hotel is perfect since it's right next to the Powell BART station and close to Union Square. Expecially in San Francisco where you don't want to be driving around.

Clean room, excellent location for our convention. Excellent room for the price. Bed comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay. Hotel is in a perfect location. Easy access to all activities. The hotel definately does not give anything away for free. No complimentary anything.

Newly remodeled in very good taste. Great location. Bar and room service is outstanding and the price was very good. Staff at the front desk are very helpful.

Everything is conveniently surrounding the area of the hotel, easy to ask for directions, super comfortable room and beds. Worth your money, only wish they'd have more discounts available...

This hotel exceeded our expectations by far. We visited on vacation for five nights and everything was great. You do not have to rent a car because all public transportation is less than a block from the hotel. The public transportation in SF is excellent. We rode the cable cars , buses, streetcars, Muni, and Bart. Just get a map from the person in the subway station and you will be fine. When we selected this hotel we depended on other peoples reviews and they were all correct. This hotel could not have been in a better location. We will stay here again on our next visit to SF.

Rooms have been remodeled, beds are terrible, very uncomfortable, feels like box springs with a pad on it. Amenities were sparce...low quality. Hotel was much nicer before remodel, this hotel is no longer a Marriott Hotel, maybe new owners? The only great thing about hotel is location right in middle of Union Square.

We arrived at 3:20, 20 minutes after our check in time and were told our room would not be ready until 4, a full hour after our designated time, at four we tried to check but were told our room would "not be ready for a while" they then offered me a king smoking, or a double bed, we ordered a king nonsmoking. After I declined both options we were given " another room" that did not resemble size of pictures on website, over all it was not exactly satisfactory.

We received a free upgrade to the top floor (32nd)upon check-in. Great location right in Union Square; no noise issues at all. Rooms very comfortable except for the lack of drawers for clothes; we had to live out our suti cases. Definitely will stay there again.

From the moment we drove up to the hotel, we were made to feel welcome. Our room was clean and luxurious, and had a great view of Market St. The Orpheum Theater was just a short walk up Market Street, and Union Square and the Ferry Building a five minute walk away. Excellent room service. Excellent sports bar. Excellent food. Needless to say, we had a great weekend! Thanks! Would definitely stay at the Parc 55 again.

The location couldn't be better, located within 2 blocks of all major public transportation and within 3-4 blocks of excellent restaurants. Reasonable prices, clean rooms. Good bar. Excellent service.

We have stayed at this hotel many times & it was our favorite in Union Square. But we were very disappointed with the remodel of the hotel lobby (1st & 2nd floor). The hotel was much more elegant & beautiful before the remodel. The new "art" is horrible. Also,There were hardly any seats available in the lobby. The charm is gone. The room was good but small. Beds & pillows were very comfortable. What a shame that the management decided to "improve"/remodel. Parking is way too expensive!

This hotel is at a perfect location for people who fly in and are not renting a car. It is a smooth transition from Airport to BART to this hotel. The area is nice on once side of the hotel but is a little shady on the other side but your going to get that from all the hotels. This hotel is newly renovated and so the price was worth the room. We had a room on the 25th floor with the most amazing view of SF and the bay. Rooms kind of small but cozy. Bed was Super Comfortable and the 2 chairs in the room were just as great. Flat screen tv was a nice addition. My only complaint was that the AC didnt seem to work so great. I would definitely stay here again.

Only stayed one night for a trip to see a play. Convenient walking distance to the theater and restaurant. Also walking distance to great shopping. Ear plugs provided, I'm guessing because noise from the nearby park draws loud demonstrations at time, though the room was quiet. Room service a bit pricey, but a great coffee and pastry shop downstairs, and good restaurants, both sit-down and fast food, close by.
