International House - New Orleans

While the hotel is well situated, it has seen better days. The rooms are very drab and decorated in beige tones from 1992. For a supposedly hip, boutique hotel, they are missing modern amenities like flat screen tv's and ipod hookup sounds systems. It WAS nice to have free wi-fi, but that didn't make up for the overall appearance of the room. Also, people should know that as a boutique hotel, room service is over by 10pm. In a city like New Orleans when people get home much later than that, you are out of luck if you want to order anything "after hours".

This hotel was recomended to me by a co-worker. I was pleasently suprised to find it to be as nice as it was. I was looking for a hotel near the quarter, but not too close. This was perfect. The hotel was very trendy and the room was small but nicely appointed. We will definitly be staying here again.

Beautiful hotel and excellent food at Rambla. The rooms were stylish and the staff was very helpful. We did not get to partake of the hotel bar, but it looked like a really good time. We will be coming back very soon.

The location was fabulous and the service was outstanding. Our room was clean and lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable. I especially loved the deep tub in the bathroom. The bar downstairs was a lot of fun and provided the perfect nigthcap for our evening out. All this at a truly competetive rate! I would highly recommend the International House to anyone traveling to New Orleans. I know we plan to stay there on our next visit.

Recently went to New Orleans for a one night stay. Hotel met or exceeded my expectations. Service was excellent and friendly! Ideal location!

I was very impressed with the decor in both the lobby and the room. The bed was king sized and very comfortable, the bathroom was modern with a funky loft style. In addition the staff was very helpful and informative as to what was going on around town, including great restaurant recommendations, even though there is a wonderful one right next door. We had a great time and will stay there again during our next visit.

This a wonderful boutique hotel with a great lounge located in downtown New Orleans. Although located close to the French Quarter and other activities you feel that you are in a private location in the city.

I had a great stay here. Friendly staff and a great location made my trip to New Orleans even better than expected.

After reading the reviews I thought I would be blown away with excellent customer service. I wasn't. First, when we arrived at the hotel there was no one to help direct us with parking and unloading our luggage. Quite frankly, there was no where to park to check-in. It was confusing. When we finally made it into the hotel lobby I was impressed. As I walked to the hotel desk I was expecting the best. The two hotel employees did not speak to me as I approached the desk. As a matter-of-fact, I was the first to speak. Overall, our stay was ok. The rooms were super clean! This hotel may be rated 4 stars, but they must make every customer feel like a "Guest". Right now, they do not.

The bar is a great place to start the night, and the hotel is close to everything. Wonderful hotel, very friendly service. Would recommend to anyone.

this hotel was top notch! cool vibe. there was a qulaity bar off the lobby. the rooms were well laid out and clean. the design and decorations of the hotel were of such class and comfort. I would highly recommend this hotel. You get so much more for the price....exceeded my expectations!

The Hotel was very nice. The decor of the Hotel was chic and simple. When you first walk into the lobby they have this fragrance which is pleasant to the senses. The room I got was a little small but it did its purpose. The hotel is a few blocks away from Bourbon Street and two blocks away from the Harrah's Casino. Staff was friendly and courteous.

This hotel is a very unique place to stay with a calmness atmosphere. Our stay was superb, rooms were clean and comfortable to stay in. I was extremely impressed with a front desk personnel name Julie. Very friendly, compassionate, informative and helpful. She recommend places to see in the French Quarters, believe me all the places she suggested we had a blast. Her customer service was beyond the call of duty! We were impressed with her abilities interacting with guest, always smiling and helpful. Definitely will make another pit stop at the International Hotel very soon!

Friendly staff, great location and ambience--although a bit dim and "vampire baroque." Pleasant bar and lobby. Enjoyed my stay.

The hotel was very warm and inviting. Great location! The only bad thing about the whole experience was 4:00 AM noise, due to construction. I Would recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway.

Thank you for recommending "International House" on Camp St. for our recent overnight stay in New Orleans. It was a very hip place to stay, and it was very close to the French Quarter. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the penthouse level (same size room) for the same cost, and we had access to the entire patio on the roof that was decorated with comfotable chairs and tables. The staff provided very friendly service. And the hotel was very clean. The bar in the lobby area was decorated with beautiful chandeliers and chic furniture and is a popular one from what I hear. Thanks again!

Room was smaller than a motel six, approximately 10x10, parking was $30.00 per night.

Was a very nice place, loved the setting. The Hotel was in walking distance from the down town attractions. Will saty on next visit. Would suggest other transportation due to the traffic and parking.

This was our first trip to the hotel and we were unsure as to what to expect and we were blown away! The front desk was so friendly and they upgraded us to the Penthouse Terrace Room just because we said it was our first time to come to New Orleans since Katrina. The staff was very helpful. The hotel was beautifully decorated and had a very nice attached bar. The room was very clean with a nice view of the city at night. We would stay here again for sure.

We are a local couple that stay at various hotels in the city just to get away. This was, by far, one of the best. Everyone from the front desk to the doorman were exceptional. The bar (Loa) in the lobby was comfortable and accomodating. We look forward to our next stay!

The International Hotel was an absolute dream. Everything about this place was relaxing and totally chic. I loved that it was located right near the French Quarter. We walked everywhere, while we stayed at the hotel. The hotel bar, Loa, was fantastic and the drinks were priced reasonably. The large bath tub was the perfect ending to a long day of site seeing. It was very clean and we felt safe and comfortable during our stay. We will choose this hotel again on our next trip to New Orleans.

Our stay there was great from beginning until end. The service was very friendly and professional and the decor of the hotel was very classy. We arrived two hours before check in and they allowed us to check in early for no additional charge. The room was small but very elegant and clean. We truly enjoyed our stay. I think the hotel was a great value...

I was expecting a descent hotel that was close to the quarter but was very pleased to discover this fantastic hotel! Beautiful rooms, lobby was elegant. Fine deal for a fine hotel!

this hotel was not like many other large, chain hotels. it had an authenticity to it that most hotels don't have. and at the same time, it was chic, modern, and trendy. the staff was great--very willing to help, polite, and friendly. rooms are smaller than i was expecting, and my view wasn't the best. but it was not too pricey, and still really comfortable and great. would most definitely stay at this hotel again when i go back to new orleans. oh, and the location was fantastic. it was away from the hustle and bustle of the french quarter, but it was also very close (walking distance) to it as well.

Rooms can be had here quite reasonably. The staff is very courteous and attentive. There is a lively bar right off the lobby. Rooms are clean, bathrooms are updated and the beds are firm. Excellent location central to the French Quarter and central business district. No complaints.

I got a sweet deal on this hotel but it would be worth a lot more because of where it is and how nice the features are. Close to everything and great serice!

Most always when a guest in this hotel I am overwhelmed by the front desk and it's courtesy standards....for the money and location, great idea..Just be sure to re-confirm yourself with the management if you are with a special rate etc. Confusion with a few of the younger, less experienced staff during check in was a bit irritating...ugh! Overall cool ..

Very clean and well maintained. Attention to detail in rooms. A boutique like hotel. Good location, staff was excellent. Only knock is no coffee in the rooms and no business center. Excellent value, would stay again without hesitation.

My husband and I booked this hotel for a spur of the moment weekend trip. We did very little research and just trusted the couple of reviews we read. We were not disappointed. This is a great hotel, easy walking distance to all the street car lines, Bourbon Street, Harrahs Casino, the waterfront, pretty much anywhere you would want to go in New Orleans. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated, nice designer touches and high end "spa" type procucts in the bathroom. We liked it so much we stayed an extra night. We were a little late to rise on that third day and housekeeping called our room to make sure we wanted service (we did, we were just being lazy). Great service. We'll recommend this place and we'll stay here again.

We had a great experience at the International House. The bar is awesome, loved Cole the bartender, and the restaurant, Rambla is wonderful. The hotel is beautiful,clean and convenient and the price was amazing.

Great service, roomy, and centrally located to the other main attractions in the area!!!

The hotel had a lot of character and the staff was excellent....the rooms are on the small side so great for 2 people. We really enjoyed the bar area....perhaps a little too much. Overall, it's a nice hotel in a PERFECT location!

The decor was very chic and trendy. Great location - withing walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. Staff was helpful, attentive, and friendly. Look forward to staying at the International House again.

Can't say enough about our stay. Guest services was very friendly and accomodating to our requests. Although the hotel resides in an older building, the interior is extremely retro and modern. Whitney Bank parking garage is within steps of the front door and very convenient. Last, but not least, the lobby bar was the perfect setting to close out each night. Highly recommended, will be back in the near future. Within a three block walk of Bourbon Street.

Historic area with a cute funky attitude. I was very happy to find such a suprise when I opened the front doors. Loved it!

I have stayed at the International House approximately 15 times over the last year and always been pleased with the service, room and wonderful ambiance of the architecture and interior design.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The artistic atmosphere was definitely unique! The room was comfortable and quite large.

Loved the hotel just coudn't stand our room. They call the room the "Rock Star" room because the room had NO windows; not one. No outside light, very small and like a cave. Not good.

The staff were very cordial and professional Whenever we nhad any questions or requests they attended to us immediately.

Convenient location. Very nice and modern hotel. The staff was great, and the bar was a lot of fun.

Just close enough. Only qualm was no pool! :(

I was looking for a hotel on short notice and found the International House through hotels.com. I booked the hotel online due to its close proximity to Bourbon Street, the reasonable hotel price, and the pictures of the hotel on the internet. When my friend and I arrived at the hotel, we were greeted to many people in the bar area having a drink and socializing. As I checked in, I was told that they were overbooked and we going to be upgraded to a suite. The suite was amazing! Large comfortable bed, huge tub, and even a chandelier! If the suites are this nice, I am sure the regular rooms within the hotel can't be that bad either! I was sad to only stay for one night and after have lived in the New Orleans area for 10 years, I was surprised to find such a great hotel! Only bad thing I have to say was the parking; only valet parking and its $32 a night, plus tax its $35. But its much easier then finding a place on the street!
