Petit Palace Puerta del Sol - Madrid

Wonderful location with a two min walk to the metro. no need to take metro once you arrive as everything is in walking distance. rooms were very comfortable and look as they did in phoyos except that the finish was not great, scratches on wood ect but this was only superficial stuff however it did make the room seem slightly dirty even though it wasn't

All of the front desk staff spoke English and were very helpful with questions or requests. There are two computers in the lobby where you can access the internet, but neither seemed to be working at any point in time. However, the hotel does offer free wireless service. The rooms have hardwood floors, and you can definitely hear whatever is going on in the hallway. But that did not bother our group it at all. The beds were clean, but the mattresses were quite stiff. The vanities in the rooms are separated by a frosted glass door so there is not much privacy. There are no English channels on the TV. But you can;t beat the location. Just steps from Puerta del Sol and a 5 minute walk to Plaza Mayor. The hotel is on a pedestrian street, so you need to walk two blocks to get dropped off or picked up by a taxi.

The hotel is fine and has nice amenities such as free internet in the lobby. The staff was ok, but varied in their helpfulness. We did not feel like the air conditioning worked very well.

This hotel is in a great location, steps from La Puerta del Sol, shopping area, metro station, and a lot of restaurants. This is a modern stile hotel with very cool fixtures but my room was a little deteriorated and I do not have any view from the window. That part was fine for a one-night stay.

As I had read before, the service at the front desk was not all that friendly. But the location was amazing. I didn't have to take a bus or taxi all weekend. It's an amazing spot for someone who wants to go out on the town. The rooms were clean and there were no problems with the clear shower as others have written. They met all my preferences and helped me call a taxi to the airport. I would stay here again.

This is a small hotel, in the heart of town. Easy walking to highlights, all types of restaurants, and groceries, etc. We liked the simplicity and friendliness.

Helpful staff, free computer, great location, smaller room, extremely noisy location (street noise, garage removal until 3am)

4 of us went for 1 night { football trip } and the hotel was ideal for this

This hotel is in the ideal location. The rooms are wonderful. The services are excellent. The only thing that didn't go well was an overlooked wake-up call on the day I had to catch a plane. But otherwise, it was the ideal place to stay in Madrid!!

Hotel is located right off of the Puerta del Sol in the heart of the downtown. Most places are within walking distance and the city's double decker tour bus stop is just the next street over. But because of its location, the streets surrounding the hotel are crowded and it can be a bit noisy at night. The front desk was courteous but sometimes a bit slow. Rooms were clean, modern and basic and I did have a hole in the ceiling that was patched up but not painted.

Traveling in Europe and especially Spain, hotels can be a "unique" experience and sometimes not in a good way. The rooms have been recently remodeled and have excellent bathrooms with very cool shower heads (overhead rainshower, hand held sprayer and 4 body jets), the frosted glass wall seperating the bathroom (sink area only) might be too modern for some but was pretty classy. The front desk speaks english and was very helpful giving direction to the airport via the Metro (subway). Location: close to the Sol Metro stop, Plaza mayor and the Royal Palace.

our stay here was very pleasant... there was free internet provided in the lobby. Although our room was on the small side it was very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

We rented two rooms for three nights. We had to switch rooms in both cases because of cleanliness. One of the rooms, the bath room had so much, mildew and algae, the whole room had the musty smell and my allergies and asthma got worse. The hotel manager did his best to switch us to other rooms upon request.

Our original room was nothing like the web showed (flat screen, laptop, etc.) but we had massive amounts of hair on the bed and call the front desk. We were upgraded to a room on the top floor which was very nice (although someone left a suprise in the toilet). The room had a large balcony over looking the city and had all the high tech. "toys" as the web indicates.

Great location and very friendly staff. Shower was good but the only negative side was the bed, it could be more comfortable.

Mes deux filles ont pu passer une très bonne soirée tapas et danse dans le centre de Madrid avant de s'envoler pour Miami. Enchantées de cet hôtel très class comme elles disent.

Fint hotell som lå meget sentralt. Ikke veldig imponert over badet som kun hadde glassdør så man så inn på personer som var på badet. Hyggelig personale.

chambre sale, meubles usés voir cassés, insonorisation inexistante entre les chambres, pas de room service, situé en plein coeur de madrid, a 4 min de plaza mayor, a 50m des rues "shopping"

Das Hotel war so richtig gut, hätte es mir nicht besser eträumen können.

Erg aardig personeel achter de balie, de locatie was ook erg goed. Midden in hartje Madrid, naast een metro station. Kamers erg mooi, ruim en schoon.
